The four guys were chilling once more having just finished
making the plan for the game, but hadn’t done it yet. When they learned of
another problem, through looking randomly at their notes and So Pharath and
mazer got into a debate. Which is as follows:
“What
do you think is best for a world of either video games or reality?” Asked
Pharath.
“Heh, I
think it should one specific way, so that people know what their doing.”
“I
disagree, I think it should have options, because that way people can chose
what they want.” Said Pharath.
“No,
that is disorganized and harder to do and control.” Said Mazer.
“Yeah,
but options in life are important because they allow us to do what we want, if
we don’t have options we don’t get what we want.”
“Yes,
but it doesn’t work for all, because some people want everyone they know to be
like them. Some people don’t want us to be gay for example.”
“We
can’t just make gay people illegal though because then we’d have a problem.”
“Yeah
but it’s not just, because they just want no gays.” Said Mazer.
“Uhm,
guys, I think it’s fine if gay people exist and some aren’t gay, they don’t
have to be gay and just ignore the gays.” Said Sam.
“No,
because if they wanted that they wouldn’t be complaining that it’s a problem.”
Responded Mazer.
“Actually,
it can be all three of those concepts. Further choices are good, but some don’t
want choices and so let’s explore this idea somehow. We just need different
parts.” Said Luck.
“Okay,
lets see what you mean.” Said Pharath.
“Let’s
run a simulation in our heads for this to work, Mazer come up with a virtual
problem.” Said Luck.
Mazer smiles in glee and says:
“ How
about there are robots that need to fill pipes with element like things called
whole phases and they need to do this to gain temporary powers, however theirs
a monster that eats them if they take too long and they debate which power to
have, but sometimes this gets one or both eaten.”
“That’s
messed up.” Said Pharath.
“Some
of them like getting eaten however, and others don’t. They also like debating
about which power to gain, they have differing opinions however.” Said Mazer.
“Okay,
what do we do?” asked Sam.
“We
give them each one.” Said Luck.
“How?”
Said Pharath.
“Easy,
since theirs a monster that might eat them while debating, we’ll give them some
areas where the wholephase is decided. Some where they choose between less
options, some where they choose between all options and a place where it’s any
of the above so they can get along doing different things.” Said Luck.
“Hmm, I
see a problem with that” Said Mazer. “Some want to debate the choice but don’t
want to be eaten.”
“Yeah,
with that we’ll give them help, from those who already have their powers for
the day, they if they want, will protect those who want to debate but don’t
want to be eaten from being eaten.”
“What about those who want to be
eaten?” Asked Sam.
“We can make it easier by giving them a place to be eaten with different
contexts.” Said Luck.
“Of course this is only using the
mentioned parts, in the real world things are a little different but the idea
is the same.” Said Luck.
“ I
guess you’re right, what differs though.” Said Pharath.
“Uhm,
mostly the context, since for example with the topic of gays, it would be an
area where there are no gays aloud. While the people that want to debate about
being gay get their own portion and if they want to be potentially convinced
they have another area. In this way, it’s a matter of personal choice which
area they belong in and feel comfortable being.”
“Okay,
but I see a general problem with this game your playing.” Said Mazer.
“What
is it?” Asked Luck.
“Distance.”
Said Mazer.
“Well,
until we have true teleportation, it’s a matter of journey. So you need several
known roots with different options of encounter, meaning the direction they go
in dictates what they’ll see on the way, while also providing places to rest,
with guaranteed encounters and emergency roots. However, certain areas can be
specific in how they function, especially residential areas. Since they don’t
have to be as open ended in concept, rather they should be more specific to the
needs of the people living there, within reason. Unlike the areas where one
rests on a journey, which are more designed for several paths, while allowing
compatibility.”
“Right,
but even that depends on the area itself, because not every area has to include
entire mazes of possibility. If I didn’t want to be able to choose my journey
for example and just live as we live today, I shouldn’t be forced to live in a
world that is like that.” Said Mazer.
“Right,
that would also have to exist for this to even make sense and be fair.”
“ Okay,
well we’ve done some work on that, but we have hardly spent time on
wholephases, which we’ve been aware of for a while now and have done pretty
much nothing with, so what do we do with those?” Asked Pharath.
“True,
however, we should do that then make it relevant in some way.” Said Sam (tempted
to unify the whole thing.)
“We did
use them a bit for meaning and concept production for a while remember?” Said
Mazer.
“Yeah but
I want new concepts beyond that, we’d also used them as a form of cover thing,
in which substances had different covers.”
“We
could take them and unify them with magic, thereby creating a new form of
magic, in which you stack them by area to form compounds , then by ascribing
meaning to the covers create a spell, without initially knowing what it does.” Said
Sam
“That
sounds like a dangerous idea, I like it.” Said Mazer.
“I have
another idea for them.” Said Luck. “We could use them as markers for areas, in
which each wholephase is ascribed a part or kind and they can be mixed to show
what is permitted or it is like in that area. That way a simple symbol can help
guide people to where they like.”
“Awe, that was the unified one.” Said Sam “ I got a different idea though, we
could take that and the magic concept and make them unified. Thereby rendering
an area having a magical content that is uncontrolled based off of what the
symbol says and the meanings inside based off of arrangements are linked to the
objects. So as to create a magical physics to an area beyond ascribed ones.”
“Heh,
but then people are scared of certain areas, because they contain scary magic
potential.” Said Mazer.
“Since
its phental, they can change the meaning, or not believe it.” Said Pharath.
“Yeah,
the parts are personally ascribed meanings, plus their based on where and what.
Meaning they choose which part there in and what extra passive effects if any
they want to have. That’s the fun in magic because it’s so liberal in nature.” Said
Luck
